These popular earrings are Bohemian in two senses: their free spirited style and their tiny glass buttons, which are made today in the Czech Republic, an area originally known as Bohemia. These buttons are hand-pressed in vintage iron molds from glass rods heated in a furnace. The technique has changed little since the first glass buttons were made here in 1732. The burnished brass gypsy-like hoop was stamped by a 3rd generation US company using antique dies.
